Trademarks

Fork the code, name your fork.

Open-source and artwork licenses do not grant trademark rights or permission to make an independent service look official.

Current policy Effective for the current release · Updated 29 July 2026

Project identifiers

“Shakel” and the official project presentation identify this project and service. This draft does not claim that Shakel is a registered trademark. Apache-2.0 and CC BY 4.0 do not grant rights in project names, logos, or endorsement.

Forks and factual references

You may accurately say that a project is based on or compatible with Shakel and preserve required copyright and license attribution. A modified or publicly operated fork should use its own name and presentation so people are not confused about its operator, origin, or endorsement.

Review status

The owner of the Shakel name and presentation is not identified in this draft. That owner must approve final naming, logo, nominative-use, compatibility, enforcement, and jurisdiction language before this policy is treated as final.
