Code and documentation
Shakel source code, configuration, tests, and project documentation are offered under Apache License 2.0. The repository LICENSE file is the controlling text. Keep its copyright and license notices when you redistribute covered material.
Original artwork
The avatar PNGs, atlas images, favicon, social image, and design studies listed in ASSET-LICENSE.md are offered under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International. Attribute them as “Shakel artwork © Shakel project owner, CC BY 4.0” and link to the license when practical.
That grant permits modification, source and application inclusion, CDN delivery, and redistribution by forks. When sharing a modified version, indicate that it was changed. The grant does not cover third-party rights, grant rights in the Shakel name, or imply endorsement.
Fonts, symbols, and dependencies
The web surfaces use system font stacks and do not distribute Geist or Geist Mono. Expo’s Android symbol implementation may bundle Material Symbols: the @expo-google-fonts/material-symbols package code is MIT-licensed and its font files are Apache-2.0-licensed. Frameworks, packages, native components, and other third-party assets retain their upstream terms.
THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md and the SPDX bill of materials are generated from the lockfile and native-project inputs. They are the inventory for the exact reviewed build, not a relicensing of upstream work.
Generated builds and forks
A generated site or application does not collapse these grants into one license: Shakel code remains Apache-2.0, embedded original artwork remains CC BY 4.0, and dependencies and symbol assets retain their own terms. Forks must preserve the notices that apply to what they distribute and must not present themselves as the official Shakel service.
